Hi John, welcome to AK. I live in the Dallas area. Where around Texas do you live Might be a good starting point for looking at the CL'ings and see what's available.

I have a powered subwoofer, but my room is carpet and the bass doesn't seem to carry throughout the room.

if you can move your budget a bit these are a killer deal. Original retail $1800, still new in box. I have a pair and they rock, and they will take some juice if you got it. The 7" mid/bass is bigger than most stand mount speakers but at 30lbs each these aren't your typical "smaller" speaker.
The huge port in the back hints at just how low these really will go. They came in 3 finishes but the high gloss black are the easiest to find these days still new.
I currently have mine connected to an 80lb 400watt/channel beast as the mains in my multi-channel setup using twin Dayton Audio Sub 1200's as stands. This makes them real giant killers with 25hz capability.
In this picture it's obvious how much larger they are than my Infinity Modulus, deep beefy bastiges they are lol.
I have the matching C-10 center, these retailed for $1200, it's HUGE, definitely no sub required there either. It's connected to a Carver bridged for 300watts.
But don't worry the C-103'Ss cranked on my 65watt Kenny KA-7300.

and $425 is a steal, plus the seller is accepting offers so.........
ya, but how many times does the budget change when alternatives are known
just about every time I buy a tv, car, etc, I usually walk away with one better than planned lol

I think you and I are outliers on this forum - there are a few others also
I don't believe so, many here have way more invested and much larger collections.
you see, I'm a working electrician in Fl, we aren't paid shite lol. Hell, waiters make more than licences master electricians working in the IBEW down here.
The OP just stated they're out of budget, but what he doesn't realize is the seller picked these up for between $129 and $179 / pair and might be willing to haggle a bit.
How do I know what he paid? Because I also grabbed 5 pair during the Amazon sales. I missed the first sale at $129, purchased 1 pair during the $169 sale, and 4 more the $179 sale.
This seller had more, I've been watching his ad for 3yrs lol. He's sold a number starting at $850 and has lowered the price over time. They're now at $425, looks like he's wanting to unload the rest. Can't hurt to make an offer.
it's how I got my Well Tempered Lab Turntable, made the seller an offer he had to refuse, but didn't lol.

Now that's funny, I have two in one room alone.
I lost 30lbs so I could fit in there tooI couldn't fit more than one in a room...
the worst he can do is refuse, or come back with a counter offer
Why not use the bass managment to high pass the Sansui's and get a subwoofer or two?

That's something I've been trying and am working on now. I have a great subwoofer but bass doesn't travel well in my room.
All the more reason to get a second one to deal with room modes.
