New speakers. Any suggestions?

I live in a small town near Amarillo. Not very many speaker stores.

Well that can have good news bad news associated with it. Bad news the location is limited and remote, and remote can be the good news in that good speakers in your price range might come up sooner or later and you'll not have the competition I have in the big city.

Also check the auction sight and put in distance from your zip code, to see if something shows up. Shipping alone will cost you more then your budget. New speakers, I've not looked at a new set of speakers in years. So, I can't recommend anything from that line.

Complete Home Theater set of NHT's in Dallas at twice your budget, but seller states OBO, so you might be able to negotiate. Plus has a sub woofer included.

The best speakers I have heard that can be had for $200 or less is some of the earlier optimus/realistic efforts.
