I have been using this site for a lot of advise and I have to say I am so impressed by the knowledge presented here. I'm an old dude, first got into stereo when I was stationed at Bitburg AB, Germany back in 1978 and worked in the audio-photo club selling Teac components, Dual turntables and Klipsch speakers. I foolishly ditched all my vintage gear as new tech came along. So now I am trying to get back to my roots and reclaim some vintage gear. I just picked up a Sansui G-7000, I have, and have had for a long time, JBL-4311B speakers. Anyhow, looking forward to seeing posts and what all this site has to offer!

Welcome aboard.. I too was stationed at Bitburg 1980-82. Bought my NS-1000's & T-1 at the mini-BX and my C-6 and M-4 combo at the Audio-Photo club. Remember Steve Wray -- Cerwin Vega Rep at the AP club also was assigned to CRS TITE shop as was I .

Cool, nice to see a felloe bitburgian here and yes I remember Steve Wray, he was my main competition for speaker sales at the club lol,we butted heads quite often for sales. I was C-shop in the 36th AMU before COMO/POMO sent us out to the AMUs, I went to the 53rd.
 
I probably knew you back then as we ran all out AN/ALR stuff and the ECM pods through your building. I remember driving a jammer into the shop to pick up the pods when we couldn't get them delivered in their crates during alerts. And I offer you my thanks as well for your service sir! Have you ever been back since you left? It's pretty sad to see it as it is now...

I went TDY to Lahr in 1985 from Eglin AFB and drove up to visit Steve at Bitburg (then a civilian stereo Rep). It was still and active Air base then. I have googled earth a few times and don't hardly recognize the area anymore.
