Hello,
I am new to this site. I am a not an audiophile.
I am looking for advise on the optimal hook up of my components in a music only system.
I am willing to pay (reasonable) for expert guidance.
I have collected these components:
B&K PT3 Preamp/Tuner
B&K ST1400ii (series 2) I have two (2) of these Amps
REGA 1 Turntable
Snell C7 tower speakers (these are odd in that they have built in subwoofers in each tower)
The speaker have three sets of terminals on the back.
I am not sure if I should use both AMPs or just one?
not sure if I should BiAmp? or BiWire? I have never done either.
not sure if I should use the amps one for mids/highs one for sub section?
in addition I do not truly know what settings I should choose on the different components and speakers?
I can post pictures of each hook up area?
Any good advise is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Might want to read this review, apparently these like lots of power and biamping is the way to go. Since you already have the amps I say go for it. Use one amp to drive the subs, the other to drive the top section of the towers.

Welcome and enjoy!! If you let us know your general location, chances are an AK member will be close by AND willing to visit and help you get it all hooked up and sounding it's best!

Bi-amping those speakers is the way to go. On the back there are wiring examples of how to hook them up below the terminals. The one you want is the middle option. The B&K PT3 has multiple outs for power amps, so that makes it easy to hook everything up.

Thank you all so far. Much appreciated.

imral3,
Is there a place on this site that shows / locates nearby contacts?
I suggest posting a "hello" in the introduction thread. You may notice members around you.
And I am not sure if there is a feature like that!?! :dunno: Might be kind of stalkerish. o_O
