New Turntable with S shape arm and removeable headshell

Hey everyone. I want to spend about $1500.00 on a new turntable and cartridge. Here's the thing, I want it to be an S shape or J shaped arm with a removeable headshell. What can I get? I;ve been looking on line and everything is either out of my price or it comes with the dang Project Carbon tonearm.

I don't want to buy used for the turntable, I prefer new.

Thank you for any replies,

Dan

Look for small indy companies (one man shop) that doesn't mass produce

Your biggest roadblock is your price range sorry to say

You can always buy TT and supply your own arm with removable head shell....I am not a fanatical cartridge swapper so a fixed headshell is perfect for me.

There are more than a few lower end tables with S Shaped tonearms, but an audition is a must. Reloop, Onkyo, Pioneer, Stanton, etc...Looks like around 600 bones.

Tall order for a new turntable with cartridge S shaped tonearm with removable headshell and what might be expected good build/sound quality for $1,500. If you choose the Stanton, Pioneer, Onkyo, Crosley etc with S shaped tonearm be prepared for diminished audio returns on your investment of $600. As mentioned the only quality turntable that fits the description is a NIB Technics SL-1200Mk2. By eliminating "not new" the OP has eliminated about 99.99% of all turntables in his search criteria. Many a wise AK member keeps an open mind when they have specific needs and a set budget when searching for a turntable.

Why it has to be S-shaped arm and removable hs? :scratch2:

For that money you can get brand new Marantz TT-15S1 with Clearaudio Virtuoso Wood Ebony, that alone costs as this whole package!

How about the Teac TN-350?

I agree with majick47
check out the technics mk1200 owners thread.
I recently purchased 2 of them to replace the Empire in my sig.

Well, thanks all for the replies..I guess I will have to go with a straight arm then.
Right now I kinda narrowed it down to the Music Hall 7.1 or the new
Pro-Ject 2Xperience SB DC. Any opinions on either of these two machines???
