Think it was a phonograph cabinet, but either way, I hate that stuff. If someone has a lone cabinet, it's one thing, but too many nice pieces have been gutted for someone's idea of "art".

Even as a lone cabinet, it may not be the best of ideas. It is still all wood and would absorb any "pet debris and odors" that might be left behind. Only useful in a very clean environment.
Heck, I wouldn't mind using it to hold a litter box (if I still had a cat). We are audio nuts, and I'd rather have repurposed audio cabinets than ugly ikea crap!
Been finishing and refinishing furniture for over 35 years. Long ago I used to get to mod radio and stereo cabinets into bars or a cabinet for nick knacks. Never see that kind of work today people don't want the look and reperposs any more.
