newbie here, how to hookup equalizer to preamp/equalizer

wow guys thanks for all the info!as a layman(on stereo stuff)i find this very interesting.like learning new things, keep it coming

TRS jacks are usually used for professional audio recording. This is one of those amplifiers that can be linked to a mixer board or an expensive reel to reel recorder. You can find adapters that go from 1/4" TRS to RCA everywhere. Try your local electronics store or RadioShack.
Alternatively you can order some online but it works just as well to use the tape1 outputs, because the tape2 output and tape1 output basically put out the exact same signal.
Heres an example of what those adapters would look like:

i went to that website and looked at those cables,(oh should first note i looked at the back of my preamp&there not 1/4"i'd say they are 1/8"(3.5mm)my pix weren't the best it would be hard to tell size.ok my question,on that website(if they were the right size)the cables were mono.now is mono ok or would i need stereo cables or adapters?to be honest i'm having trouble finding all stereo adapters.i find mono adapters or stereo 1/8"male to mono rca female.if i'm thinking right i don't think i really need to worry about the tape 2 stuff (hooking it up the way fred c says to do it)but it would be nice to have the right adapters for it.well i've rambled enough for now.thanks guys and have a nice evening

Those jacks are the same radius as the RCA jacks, which means they are 1/4".
What you are looking for IS a dual mono cable. Notice that those jacks are labeled left/right not stereo/stereo. This means each side is a mono signal, like all audio. Its the same as RCA just a different plug. Same number of contacts on each side.
Lemme know if I need to explain that better. Seems kind of vague even to myself.

EDIT: Notice that the cable I linked to is the exact one that you need. A 2 channel cable that just converts 1/4" to RCA.

RCA jacks are not 1/4 inch. 1/4 inch jacks are common to guitars and microphones except where microphone jacks now-a-days are XLR.

Stereo cables are designated as RIGHT & LEFT. Mono cables are one single cable only.

Those cables on that website are the same one's I use on my Spectro-Acoustics SP202C power amplifier where one end (RCA's) are connected to the preamplifier, and the other ends (1/4inch) are connected to my SP202C. I suppose one day I will take those jacks out of the 202C and put in RCA's, but for now, there is no problem.

I photoshopped this up real quick, this will probably help you understand a little.
