Nikko NR-1019 - cleaning a relay

From old knowledge (been 30 years since I worked on them) the 1019 and 1219 used to have problems with the solder breaking on the pin connector going into the amp board. (small 2 pin wire going to the board) May or may not be the case here. The outputs I think are no longer available NEC 2SB705 / 2SD745, but shouldn't be too hard to find replacements. (unless they were 706/746, which can be subbed, but need to do some modification.) YMMV Good luck

It acts like dirty/worn relay contacts..or check the headphone jack as it mite shut off speakers when headphones are plugged in. It doesn't sound to serious. Do you have to use the speaker switch to turn off speakers for headphone use?

I know it's an old thread. However if anybody have the same problem of this model, please drop me a line. It's an easy fix.

I've had a 1019 for a few years and had a lot of problems with it,disappointed in this Nikko product.Mostly bad solder as stated before,a lot of bad solder!Mine finally went in to protection mode limbo, debating on trying to fix or just giving up.on the other hand i have an Alpha 230 amp that i just love!night and day difference in quality, not sure why?

Just shot you a message, I'd be curious to know your fix as I'm having the same problem but have cleaned all switches and replaced the relay.
