Nikko NR-1219 – what's it worth?

Nikko is good stuff. I think that was 2nd from top of the line to the 1419. I'd say over $500

LOL 1419 never existed. The most powerful was the 1415, the 1219 was TOTL in the x19 series.(Later than the 1415) Very good (and nice looking) receiver.

Even though it is good receiver, not much interest seems to follow them so prices reflect that. I had a 1019 and couldn't sell it and ended up trading some other stuff for it. See if there is any completed sales on Ebay to see what the value is.

Very good equipment and the xx19 series are among the best looking recievers ever, but Nikko doesn't have the name recognition that other companies do, and so other than their very fine separates, they don't go for a lot of money. It wouldn't surprise me if it went for less than a hundred bucks. It's not fair or reasonable, but that may be the way it is. Of course, if you are buying, that's a good thing.

I had a 1219 here for awhile. A nice looking and sounding receiver. I let it go only because I thought my Nikko NR-1015 sounded a bit better with "stacked" Advents. The 1219 was in very good condition. I think I sold it for around $125 but that was several years ago. With the way vintage gear has appreciated in price, I would imagine a nice, recently serviced 1219 could go for somewhere closer to $200. But I'm a big fan of Nikko so maybe I'm being optimistic.

I had a Nikko NR-1015 back in the day. That was a great receiver with plenty of punch!

Great equipment, but pretty much zero demand and doomed to perpetual obscurity. Most of us old coots had Pioneer and Kenwood back in the heyday, maybe Marantz and Sansui if we had the bucks. So, that's what we want today. And In my limited experience rehabbing and trying to flip old gear, young people who "want to get into vinyl" and are looking for something old school want the same brands. I have a heavenly sounding rebuilt NR-819 receiver, with a recently aligned tuner, boxed up on the shelf and looking for a good home. I'll put it up against any 40W receiver from that era. Can't move it.

My everyday tuner is an NT-850, my everyday amp a TRM-750.
