I just picked a Nikko NR-1415 up that I am thinking of doing a full restore on and keeping for my personal collection. I have been doing this for 10 years and this is the first one that came through my shop. Any one have opinions or own any Nikko equipment???

I have a Nikko NR-819 and love it. There's something about the sound that's just right.

Mine has a broken VU meter and burnt out panel lights, but it's still my favorite receiver.

I have a NR-1415 .. i picked it up with one channel out not long ago and am in the process of the restore .. the left channel portion of the protection relay had vaporized from what the old owner had claimed was his daughters turning it on at a high volume and poof ... anyhow ..a more robust relay is going in and all the caps and a handfull of black leg transistors are being replaced the working right channel sounded very well I and i anticipate it to sound even better soon (new caps, several transistors, and a real beef up of the internal output to speaker binder wires) should make things a bit better .. Keep us posted on how yours goes ... I have a full service manual for it as well. Nick

I'm running an 8085 in my garage system. Well built receiver with a nice warm sound, to my ears maybe just a touch light in the midrange, but nothing to complain about.

I'd love to have one of those baby's.Quite a studly receiver,it's on my bucket list. And now....:worthless

I have an NR 1019 and love it. I also HAD a 1415 and sold it. I am so stupid as I will probably never see another one. Selling it was one of my biggest audio mistakes.
Congrats on getting one.

I had a 1015 bought new at Crazy Eddie's back in the day. Hellava receiver and I kept it for many years. But like Ilikevinyl and Bucky Badger, I foolishly sold it. Don't make the same mistake. Best of luck with it. It's a tank.

:-) the tech i have working on mine right now keeps calling me cause he is so excited over things he finds .. apparently he is quite impressed with the build quality ... He has done a good deal of Marantz and Pioneer, he called today all excited that he has been doing a burn in for 5 hours at moderate volume and the head sinks are barely warm .. and yes if i had pictures id have some on here for sure when its back i will do full nudies on it ...

I was just chasing a NR 1019 recently online .. i have the 1415 but i think i like the looks of the 1019 better than the 1415.

as a side note the output transistors on the 1415 were the same as used in some of the big Nikko Alpha's and .. and dont quote me as to which one(or ones) of the large Pioneers I belive the SX-1280 1250 or 1050

2SD555 and 2SB600. Same as 1250, and some of the other 160W plus receivers. Used in the AlphaI, Alpha II Alpha V and Alpha VI.and others.

I'm a big Nikko fan. It's hard to find a bad piece by them.

I gave my STA-2020 to my sister, but my NR-1019 is still in my basement, waiting for its channel issue to be fixed. Maybe if I leave it alone long enough, it'll fix itself. :D

Thanks Dave :-) i am listening right now .. waiting for a little Howard’s feed and wax to dry a bit so i can buff it out .. the guy did very nice work considering the small butchering i did when my probe slipped its nearly a miracle lol it was so nice to find a true craftsman for a change who loves to educate too

45rpm take a look at the PDF in my post 8 on my nudies post for the 1415 some of the wiring ideas would probably really benefit your 1019 as well ... open up the floor gates .. its a PDF file that you can blow up 200% and read the markings on the board and all
