i saw a nixie tuner incorporated into a vintage solid state receiver this weekend. way cool.. it was a brute with slide switches.. but the name eludes me.. anyone have any ideas pics? thanks!!
HH Scott had a tuner with Nixies; they also had a very early digital receiver, but I think the display was either Beckman planar gas-discharge or LEDs.
Heathkit and (IIRC) Sherwood also had early tuners with Nixie digital displays -- not receivers, though.
If it was a receiver, it was a Hervic 150. Original designed but never released by SAE. Parts and rights were bought, built and distributed by Hervic. All SAE inside.

Don't think they were ever published. Been a long time, the owner had collected a bunch SAE gear and schematics. Forget now which ones I used but he provided them based on his research. The tuner was a MK6 without the scope. Wish I had a better memory. Can't remember the pre or amp. Probably better info on the SAE forum.
