Well Sir., I, out of curiosity, I went to Amazon, and the original S-2 DAC (my version) is currently offered at the same price as what I paid for mine close to 10 yrs. ago ($399.00), which had risen by $100.00 until Pro-ject recently released the upgraded S-2 version DAC., currently being offered on Amazon at $499.00.

I don`t know if Belgium (where Pro-ject manufactures their audio products) is a country that is import tariff affected, only what the 2 versions Pro-ject S-2 DAC. prices as delivered by Amazon, that shows on their website.


My original Pro-ject S-2 DAC version sounds excellent (source ripped CD recording quality dependent, of course !), and has remained powered up 24/7/365 since installation with zero issues, so I, with 71 yr. old ears, have no sonic incentive to upgrade to the upgraded performance version unless mine fails.

Yeah, I know. The post I quoted just set it up perfectly for a joke about inflation in general, so I took it. Some day I'll grow up :):). But I hope not soon :)
