have you put a fuse in yet and fired it up ?
have you put a fuse in yet and fired it up ?

It looks like a very nice amp with it's skirt pulled up. Is it as nice when you flip it over. I am betting it is. Anything in that amp can be repaired/replaced except, God Forbid, If something happened to the power or OP transformers during shipping.
The sellers response was rather immature. I would be very unhappy too, if a very expensive amp showed up on my doorstep DOA. They should have not inflamed the situation by insisting you return the amp for a refund. They even offered to pick it up personally. That is odd don't you think.
Here is my conspiracy theory. They sold the amp to you and then got a much better offer, maybe from an Asian buyer. So, they shipped it DOA waiting for your email complaining that it was DOA. Then they responded by offering you a refund and, as I mentioned before, to personally pick the amp up. Then they stated they wanted to terminate any future business dealings with you. Why? So you would not find out what they did?
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
It is just a thought.
Send it to Terry and let him do a full monty recap/repair on it and enjoy your great amp. I can guarantee it will not come back with cardboard around the the can com pos cap. I have pictures if you want to see them.

Don, glad to read that apparently all is well (maybe the last tech to check it out removed the fuse for some reason and forgot to put it back in before buttoning the unit up). I hope it continues to work and provide great sound for many years.Oh man, well if your still up I'm enjoying the tunes coming from the 240 compliments of the Dire StraitsThanks everyone for listening to me belly ache  But I'm pretty happy right now :thmbsp:
That's a pretty wild story. I had contacted the same seller about another MC240 they had actually listed on their web site and have gone through, placed the amp on my shopping cart and completed the checkout process. Thier process is they will call you and take your payment and shipping information via phone. I had done all this between 5:30-6:00am and by 2:30pm or so had not been contacted by themm so I called. I was told that the unit had been taken home by a local customer and he had decided to purchase it. I was also told that they had another really nice MC240 coming in the following month and they would contact me when it arrived. Well some time passed and I didn't hear from them so I called them. And as luck would have it it had just came in. I asked for some pictures, which I posted here in another thread and paid them their asking price without any hessitation. Could I have found a better deal? Sure but the unit is in great cosmetic condition and I was told of it's repair history including Mr. DeWick so I was pretty satisfied all would be good. So this brings us to where we are today.
OK, I'm off to install that fuse, stay tunned :scratch2::sigh:

I don't think it's showing integrity to respond the way this seller did. Reread his reply to Don's very mild and to me, fully justified complaint. He showed no concern for the customer, just wanted to blow him off and wash his hands of the situation."what a jerk. I wouldn't do business with him again, that's for sure". They probably won't do business again, the seller already took care of that possibility. I would though. The seller might have thin skin but he obviously cares about his rep and has a lot of integrity, something I find getting rarer these days. It's too bad everyone is not perfect.![]()
