No WAF? Blame Martha Stewart!

Martha's not the only one... all those designer/decorator/organizer programs on cable throw out people's stereos, computers, tv's because they don't fit into their stupid 'designs'. It's laughable to see a keyboard and monitor sitting on a desk in the middle of the room with no wires or power cords to be seen, or a flat tv mounted on a stone fireplace with no cables or cords.

My GF's mother is an interior designer, and when she came into my room, well, she almost fainted. Just stuff that I threw together, and I'm happy with it.

Now, my girlfriend's getting a CUSTOM room, and she is trying to have in -wall speakers :nono:.

I said Bullnose Advents, or AR2ax's. They fit the decor, which is wood, and a good wood case Marantz for amplification. I think that I can get her the speakers.

Also, my girlfriend's mother said "why MUST you have all those wires???" and I just hit play on the R2R and grinned....

I do kind of need to find a way to clean up the jumble of cables and wires I have for my stuff. I don't have to look at it all the time but it would help when I do some room rearrangement or equipment repair/rearrangement(I move things around quite a bit).

Dudes,

This is a good thing. Martha's right. Hook up with all the designers and offer to recycle all that messy stuff for their clients.

Watch the commercials for the LCDs & plasmas. They like to show them mounted in places where it would be impossible to run cables. To date I don't know of any solar powered TV's.

Yea I was watching one of those home makeover shows and they made this guy get rid of all his albums. My wife and I were laughing our asses off. She asked me what I would do and I said I would tell them to get the hell out of my house.

No sh*t! I see these shows and the rooms after they are done look cold and sterile like being in a damn hotel. The places look like no one lives in them. :nono:

Best,

This can be a good thing for us. Last summer I found half-a-dozen yard sales where the poor guy was selling a really good collection of CDs or LPs because the wife made him put them all on the computer, then get rid of the actual recordings because they're just "taking up space".

Don't be so quick to generalize. There are some killer inwalls out there. Done right they can be fantastic.

That's because if he put her in the yard he'd have no takers.......

We should all be so lucky having a wife like yours! Very comfortable listening space, too.

I have my own listening room now and she doesn't care what it looks like. We call it the ManShun and it's a seperate building. Everything else is hers and we're both happy as hell.....:music::banana::yes:

Martha Stewart
Martha Stewart: Just Desserts: An Unauthorized Biography

Shocking Discoveries: Westport, Conn., where the Stewarts lived, long ago had a reputation for "key parties" -- couples threw their house keys into a pile and then went home with the husband or wife who matched the key. A friend of Martha's from those days told me, "My husband and I were invited to a party (at Martha's) once with this group" and was "horrified at the behavior. Martha, for instance, was in [so-and-so's lap] and she was acting pretty playful…I knew that they had nude pool parties. My reaction was that Martha walked on the wild side…" Being the investigative biographer I am, I tracked down so-and-so and he confirmed, "There was a lot of chemistry going both ways between Martha and me…"

She's a moron and a covected Fellon!!

the Mrs here bought a nice cabinet to put all my livingroom stuff in. She doesnt know s*** about audio. Good versus bad. The good thing for all of us is more stuff all of us! People who listen to her will foolishly give up all their LPs,CD's and equipment. Too bad for them.:tears:

Hi,

My wife says that Martha Stewart is an abomination and lacks refinement. She likes lots of audio equipment in a nice room with serious corner horns. We never met a Barzilay cabinet we didn't like. Our living room features a JBL Paragon which she had installed.
