Hey! So I’m new into this world and I was looking into buying a TT, my first option was the Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo, but after reading so much negative opinions about it in this place (I still having read a solid opinion on why is a bad TT) I decided to look at other options.
To put into context, i’m not interested in buying second hand TT, audio technica TT (I just don’t find them pretty), or any TT above 600€. I’m only looking into getting deep into this hobby without buying a shitbox, ruining my finance or not knowing what i have just bought, so i am coming here mostly to learn, learn and learn a lot, because i really don’t know anything about most of the things talked here. So any ways, this is my main problem:
I’m thinking of getting a Rega Planar 2 with an AT-VM95ML cartridge, is that or the Project debut carbón evo with a Rainier cartridge, so between those 2 what would my best buy? (My main focus is to keep my TT for a long time, even for life, and maybe slowly upgrade its parts. I’m not saying i won’t change and latter maybe buy a more expensive one, but that’s the main focus of my buy)
Then i will need a phono preamp (I think the project tube box s2 looks cool not sure about the sound though) amp, and speakers (i now have ones so it’s not a priority but it’s good to hear what should I buy) I will also use my V-Moda Crossfade m-100 master to hear the vinyls, so it would be great if the setups you guys may present allow to plug headphones.
if you guys could guide me through this process and maybe provide links for me to learn more about everything about this world it would be the best first touch with this world
