NOS Sunbeam Toaster and Appliances

I got a gorgeous Sunbeam T-9 Toaster from Sanford12 last year -
threw out the BPC toaster we had before.
The sunbeam is such a gem, got a jewel on the front that lets the light of the redhot coils inside shine through when its toasting -
and you can set it so the toast stays down and keeps warm longer when the coils shut off.

It inspired me to find other matching pieces to go with it, from the sugar-creamer set to a percolator and an old vacuum coffeemaker.
I've also got an old chrome Sunbeam mixmaster I use ever year to bake cookies , and my parents original Sunbeam waffle iron.
Everything is in working condition - but I do make daily coffee with something else ...

Very Nice finds!

Went out and blew off the sidewalk around 09:30 - but snow is still falling ... Afterwards, I pulled out Mom & Dad's Sunbeam waffle maker and made 2 sets of waffles (8 squares) - one sheet for now, and one for the next time we have Butter Chicken (its amazing over waffles!)

Wow Heather,
You're bringing back some memories. I love it. My mom had the same vacuum coffee maker and waffle iron.

She had an electric rotisserie too. A chicken hasn't tasted so good since.

we had the same waffle iron.
I would eat all 4 waffles in one sitting.
it saved mom a lot of work !
thanks for the memories

I rescued a vintage NordicWare stove top waffler from the Goodwill years ago. We don't make waffles very much anymore. There needs to be a special occasion. What I like best is how hot it can make a waffle. Nice and crunchy dark on the outside. I run it at full flame, and just keep flipping ever 90 seconds. Spray oil. Makes a gawdawful mess, and you better have a good hood fan.

The BEST waffle batter is a yeast batter that you make the night before.

So, last night was the night ... we had saved the 2nd sheet of 4 waffles for last night. Emma cooked some indian sides
and made butter chicken over Waffles - fusion food - OMG - so good! And, leftovers tonight with the final pair of waffles!
(Boil in bags of Paneek Paneer and slow cooked lentils to go over the rice ...)

Cool... That falls under the category of "they just don't make things like they used to".

When I was a kid family friend had an old toaster that you stuck the bread in a slot on one end and the toaster sort of walked it through to the other end. It had a side window so you could watch the bread toast. At the time I thought it was about the coolest thing ever. WAY better than the dull chrome top loading Sunbeam that we had. I've never seen anything like since.

Vintage toaster collecting is a really big deal for a surprisingly large number of people.

Anybody else remember getting a toaster with a new account at the local bank?

I remember Green Stamps quite well. The ex and I got a ton of stuff with Green Stamps. The local grocery had a "double stamp" day every week. That's the day we always went grocery shopping.

Speaking of stamps... Who here remembers Buckeye Premium Stamps? I recently came across of of their catalogs in a box of old papers and magazines. It's a hoot to flip through.
Toast-o-lator.
