Officer Cleared

I always figure if you point a gun at a cop you can pretty much count on guaranteed reciprocity. Not much rocket science involved.

Really!, geez...what a video, I certainly wouldn't have been nearly as calm as the officer involved. I agree that I don't see how this could even go to court, as it was certainly a attempt on the officers life...and with very little provocation (seemed rather routine). Then again, maybe the alchol is what caused all this in the first place:dunno: (I would be surprised if it didn't play a role).

While I may not necessarily wish to "interact" with a officer, I certainly appreciate their efforts:yes:.
 
Good riddance to that loser.

He was obviously ready to kill someone that night, anyone who got in his way.

That cop had horseshoes. It could have easily ended badly for him and his family.

Glad I live in Canada where such idiots as this guy have a far harder time getting their hands on a hand gun. :yes:

Do they? This is a serious question...

Does a criminal in Canada really have a prohibitively harder time getting a hand gun, or is that just an illusion because people in general have a harder time getting one legally?

I know this boarders on the political, but.

I know very well that with the cash I could purchase an illegal hand gun in any big Canadian city. Would take a while to track one down though.

Saw an interesting documentary on CBC which tracked the history of a handgun that had been used in a murder in Toronto. It traced back to a gun shop in Georgia. One that had a history of selling handguns to basically anyone.

Ironic thing is that it was purchased by someone from New Jersey, which has much stricter controls on hand gun sales. I think it cost the guy originally about $200, it sold for about three times that much in NJ and about 5 times that much in Toronto. I believe that it had been used for a crime in NJ before it made it's way to Canada.

So no if a person is determined you can buy a hand gun in Canada. Will cost a lot more than state side and take longer to find though. Thing is it is mostly gang banger types that buy them.

For a guy like the one in the video in Canada it is a lot less likely that such an individual will have a hand gun. Rifles and shotguns are a different story, a lot harder to conceal a rifle or shotgun though.

I could undrstand how you say it's harder.. but then again, it just like in the states...

For you're every day joe, it may be hard for them to find a little heroine, but for people that are into that kind of thing, it's only a short walk up the street..

If you aren't in the right crowd, yep, that can cost you a lot, but in the right crowd, it may even be free..

Perception is from what side of the fence you're on..
 
The wife and I have been following this since January, and were happy to hear that the officer was cleared in this incident.

Sadly a good friend of mine from High School, Tim Abernathy was not so lucky. He was shot and killed just before Christmas 2 years ago while conducting a traffic stop. His killer Mabry Joseph Landor III was recently sentenced to death.

A gentle reminder. If this thread turns into a debate about gun laws and/or legislation, regardless of country, it'll be history.
 
After the guy told the bartender "You won't see me for a while" I would bet he was on his way to kill his girlfriend and / or the other guy she was seen with, then possibly suicied. Fortunately the officer stopped him first. Hope the officer gets back on duty soon making the world a little safer for the rest of us!
