I saw Jrue Holiday wearing a marching bears Grateful Dead knit cap on the news tonight.
I figured it was for his wife but Google AI found:
"Jrue Holiday, a basketball player for the Boston Celtics, played Grateful Dead's
"Shakedown Street" during a commercial break while honoring Bill Walton."

Hello friends, been spinning a bootleg box set of the whole MSG '88 run... Only one show in but there are some real cookers so far! Solid Queen Jane and a killer Let It Grow, maybe the best I've heard since 5/14/78 (every bit as good as Santa Fe 9/11/83). Then a Box of Rain to open the second set, a Victim that's actually good, and a Morning Dew closer with a sweet Black Muddy River encore. Only one show in and the set's damn near paid for itself!
What have you guys been listening to?
What have you guys been listening to?
Been enjoying Grateful Dead since the early 70s, caught the Wall of Sound twice in those days ...
got a lot of their stuff and quite a few of the newer reIssues.
And lately I've been listening to Billy Strings too.
I know some of you folks have tracked him for a long time, but I just started following him after buying 4 CDs of his stuff.
His own music is great - amazing genre-breaking hybrid stuff - but FWIW,
I just found his covers of Dead stuff on Archive org.

Just dipped a toe in those tracks, but so far have enjoyed Birdsong, Cassidy, and Deep Ellum Blues!

I love the Dead, but am reducing my stash as I can stream a lot of it. I recently sold my vintage Skull and Roses poster, 3rd printing. It was pretty beat from 55+ years of hanging out with me, but I bought a nice print to replace it for a fraction of it’s value.

Edit: what’s your favorite on this list?
In early '88 my buddy's brain surgery student friend (always A+ grades) had an epic GD collection of low gen shows some 2nd gen.
He copied a few shows for us to play on our way to our first Dead shows at The Meadowlands.
One of mine was the 12/28/69 Hollywood Florida Speedway show.
Here's the complete show with the most reviews at archive.

My copy started with fade-in during Cold Rain & Snow.
Still about my favorite show with good stage banter & my favorite Mason's Children.
