While I also won't pretend to be the ideal contributor to mentioned thread (or any of them for that matter), it is my hope that if staff feels any of my posts were out of line in a particular thread, then they will at least inform me of such, as it's never my intentions to get threads locked up.
 
Lol, don't feed the trolls. Honestly though, occasionally us long standing members get carried away responding to trolls, but it isn't intentional. They just pushed the right buttons! I have a feeling something happened over night or this morning that got it locked up. I'm just hoping that it is just to clean it up.

It would be unfortunate for such a long living thread to be killed by actions that weren't intended.

I once got a message from a moderator that deleted a post of mine. I try to learn from these. Sometimes we are too close to the action so we don't see the big picture.
 
Something I've noticed in the past is that us forum users seem to get shorter fuses at this time of the year. Maybe it has to do with less sunlight, or the cold, but it seems every winter there are postings that I don't expect from some member who normally isn't like that. I've probably done it myself!
