A piece of speaker wire hung around the room brought Hams in from all over the world last night on 7mhz.....and right now i am listening to the VOA broadcasting to Africa......

It sure takes me back.......

That is one Cool looking Receiver!!!!!! I bet your going to have Alot of Fun with it !!!!!!! Nice Score !!!!!!

That qualifies as audio, you listen to it don't you. Yeah I would love to have one of those myself. Just another reminder at how cool Radio Shack used to be.

You know, it was ready to be thrown into the thrift stores trash pile......they had no idea what it was.....so they decided to throw it out.....the speaker was in another pile of trash in another corner of the store.....so i was very lucky to be able to save it........

Beautiful radio you got there and a heck of a price! Darn wish I could find a deal like that.
I still will stick to my DX398 digital, but old analog SW radios are sure fun to play around with.
Now connect a 40 foot wire to that thing and slingshot the other end into the tree and see what you can pull in :)

Thats sad I reckon that happens more often than not. I must say I am kinda envious.

Picked up one of those at GW for $5 a few years ago... got it home, popped the back and discovered it was full of pink fiberglass. Mice had been using it for an apartment, dining hall and, especially, toilet for a long, long time. That one went to the landfill real quick.
