OK to replace bipolar electrolytics with film caps in crossovers?

Lead bench tech at KEF USA would tell you on many of their models to replace with electrolytic type cap! I have replaced many out of spec, original caps with film caps and most of the time did find an improved transparency effect. I would not throw a blanket for fim caps only however.

As with so many things around here, there are no short simple answers! But understanding what the complexities are at least arms us with tools to make informed decisions.
