Typically when there is some big increase in a parameter, in theis case current handling, there is some decrease in performance elsewhere. I'd guess 2383 is far more noisy than the 1845 or 1815.

The CoB is still really high compared to the original device.

Its really getting hard to find a replacement that checks all the boxes. Most suggestions I get are obsolete and the ones I find seem to have one thing or 2 that aren't equivalent. Its exhausting.

Hi, if you just need a few pieces for a repair, have a look at the Sanyo 2SC3468. It is obsolete but still available from some sources.
