Once more Sansui transistor substitutions

Sansui service bulletin for 8080 lists 2sc1400 or 2sc1708 for the differential pairs on the driver board with 1400 preferred. These have wildly different Hfe numbers. The 1708 from my amp measures 660 My KSC1845p replacements measure ~400. The 2SC1400 has a min Hfe of 225. Seems like a large variation. Which way should I go? 400 seems like a good compromise but input gladly accepted.
400 will be fine, see if you can find a higher pair than that, I can sometimes find 420 or 430 in my stock of KSC1845's, higher is an advantage, but the matching is king, don't sweat it if you can't find anything close to that original 660 you found. Remember not to hold the transistors with your fingers when you are measuring their hfe, my tester (Peak Electronics), has mini-grabber clips, I can usually get the three leads clipped on without touching the transistor.
Perused the thread but could not find replacements for my G-8000. Looking for drop in replacements for 2SA745B and 2SC1403B ?

When we get enough sleep and are happy, the music will be great. When we lack sleep, everything we hear will feel harsh, like too much treble. So it's best to keep the body healthy at all times so that the music will be good.
Which ones?
