Onkyo DX-710 CD Player Thoughts?

Hey all,

Anyone have any experience with or general knowledge about Onkyo DX-710 CD players? I have the opportunity to get one for what seems to be a reasonable deal but at a price that I'm not willing to just throw caution to the wind - I'd appreciate any thoughts on sound quality, build quality, and reliability. I've had a Sony CDP-CE235 5 disc changer for an eternity and I'm interested in getting/experimenting with something that sounds better - would the Onkyo be a noticeable improvement?

I feel that I should clarify that this is a "vintage" player that dates to between 1993 and 1996 (I think). No optical out or anything fancy. Anybody?
 
My experience is that single disc players are built better than changers. This usually leads to better sound. I can't say more than that as I haven't heard or used either unit.
 
I have that Onkyo DX-710 for over 20 years and it's very nice sounding cd player. It's dynamic, bright and clear. Little metal sounding in good way. Bass is deep but not flat, more like strong.

It's one of the best cd player that I have listened and experienced. I still have that, although I have several others as well. I don't use that now, I'm let it rest, like a little holiday for awhile and I'm using now Technics SL-PG470A and Technics SL-P202. Both from 90's era.

Onkyo DX - 710 is very good :rockon:

By and large, the Onkyo CD players from this era are reliable, well built, and sound great in good order. I like this player very well.
 
I have two of its big brother, the DX-1400, and they have always been one of my favorite units. Very reliable too, my "good" one that I bought new is still on its original laser.
