Onkyo HT-RC180 No Sound DSP chip issue

A week ago I scored an Onkyo HT-RC180 for free. Well from the vet go it had what I came to find out was the DSP No Sound Chip Issue. It randomly started working for a day, ever since then it has not worked. I went and got a heat gun, thermo gun and some flux. I followed the YouTube videos to no avail. Did I do something wrong? I'm afraid I may have because I warped the ribbon pin connector accidently as seen in photos, enough to make the ribbon pop out while I was in the middle of reflowing. Did I mess something up? I found out later you need a specific heat gun, one with a small nozzle. I also wonder did I use the wrong reflux? When the system worked for that day, it sounded amazing. Get a magnifying glass and see if any of those surface mount connections are bridged. You can double check using your vom with some sharp pointed probes.

I doubt that the type of flux you used has anything to do with the problem although it's possible that the receiver has lead solder in it. Look on the back for some indication that it's lead free. ROHS.

Clean all of the flux off.
