I was wondering if anyone has ideas and/or experience in firming up the suspension on the CP-1057F. I have two of these, replaced the dried out gear, and the turntables both work well except the suspension is so soft that I have to tip-toe around the turntables when playing a record. I've tried different cartridges and some track better but I have had better results with entry level turntables where I can jump up and down next to them with no skipping.
I can't see that the suspension was like this when new, because it does the opposite of isolating. Perhaps this has to do with age or there is some damping material inside that may have disintegrated.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I don't see any method to firm up the suspension based on the service manual.
