Onkyo TX-2500MK2 value??

I found one of these units on The Bay. They had it listed at $165, down from $200. I got it for well less than $100 but there was some shipping involved. Any idea what these are worth rated "good"?
Its gonna need a faceplate and a lower bulb bank. Barring any major problems under the hood, I should be able to refurb quite easily if I can find the parts. Hate to buy parts junkers and pay freight on them.
Any ideas on a source for used Onk parts would be greatly appreciated!

For parts ebay is probably your best bet. Might find today, might take weeks or months.

On the left side of the page select "completed items" to see the actual prices paid for recently sold items. GREEN is for pieces that actually sold. Black is items that did not sell.
Since you are a subscriber you could post a WTB in BarterTown.

It's tough to nail prices down anymore. Condition is everything. While the 2500 MK II was entry level, they were very popular and with good reason. If one pops up that is very nice cosmetically, there will be a bigger market willing to shell out whatever it takes to get it. A near perfect example will fetch more today than the top of the line 8500 MK II did 5 or so years ago.

Do you find the prices in Bartertown to be a fair deal or as outrageous as Fleabay? I've gotten much more savvy in buying/selling over the past year or so. But Ebay pricing on vintage gear, regardless of condition, is absolutely ridiculous. I get that value=what a buyer will pay, but there doesn't seem to be a slowdown in sight!
 
I have not been a subscriber for a few years so no idea how BarterTown stacks up nowdays.
Ebay offers a look into what people are willing to pay but keep in mind it has a huge audience. Much bigger than a local CL or FB Marketplace, and much bigger than BT as well.
In turn ebay may bring higher prices because it reaches so many eyes.
I lack the the "sell" gene in my makeup, I made two purchases in BarterTown and got good deals, but it was a while ago. I subscribed mostly to support AK since selling was of no importance to me.

I agree with all of this.

eBay has a huge market, and you can often get as much as twice the money there compared to BT. It also has its risks and fees (as a seller).

BT is a much smaller market, the odds of finding what you want there are much lower. So are the odds of finding the right seller. BT tends to work better in larger cities as many of us like to see and pick things up personally. However, at least when I was still a subscriber, the sellers and buyers here on BT are typically much more honorable, things go well and you make a friend. If the person on the other end of your BT deal has cred here on BT, you are usually going to be happy with the deal.

YES! I've become much more wary of the items on EB. It seems to have gotten worse in the past year or so. I believe there is such a selling frenzy, prices are so inflated that some folks are getting so greedy and the misrepresentation is rampant. I've been lucky with the higher priced items I've purchased there. I bought one receiver that was advertised as "mint" that showed up with broken tuner glass, two broken tone control shafts and an inch of crud under the hood. Luckily the seller ended up refunding partial price just so I would not wreck his feedback score. But for the most part, I do my due diligence and work with reputable sellers.
