Ortofon cartridge identification help please

Hi, I have what I believe is an Oftofon FF cartridge body here, but I have also been told it might be a VMS ... Colour me confused. I always thought the VMS ones had a "key" at the bottom.

Can anyone clarify for me. After a few internet searches I am even more confused.

I have 2 similar Ortofons here. The bodies look the same as yours except the opening does not have the hourglass shape with the narrow waist; it's just a rectangle. One of them has a VMS stylus in it and the other an FF and they both have the hourglass shape insert.

I don't know if that helps or adds to the confusion. I think (but can't be sure) I bought at least one of the styli from VOM. I do know the hourglass shape on the stylus will fit the rectangle in the body but the reverse will not work.

More digging seems to indicate FF and VMS are interchangeable. Any comments from anyone?

Go to this site https://www.canadianastatic.com/magnetic-stylus-ortofon.html look at the chart on the left for the different stylus shapes. One thing I must caution you on is even though an M15E or M15E super look like they would fit they won't work do to differences of where the magnet is placed.

FL is hour glass mkii, and vms is x shape mkii. I have the vms 20e mkii, and had an ff15e. They are not interchangeable though. Yours should be the first version. You can use other ff stylus.
