Oscilloscope class - online AK training

DCinDC

I'm here to fix it
In a post where a member was offering an ocope for sale cuz he never learned to use it, I offered to host a training class on oscopes.

I thought we could use the chat room feature.

I was trained in the Air Force on electronics and often taught my peers.

We need to decide on a time, and I have to develop a curiculum, but we should be able to do this in the next two weeks.

Posts in this thread should support deciding on a convenient time for those interested, and discussion on how to make a chat room channel to keep it on topic. I'll need help there.

You will NOT need an oscope to learn to use one!

My evening schedule is often pretty busy, but some sort of written training course would be most helpful. I have a nice Tek in the garage that I really want to learn to use.

The chat room idea is good, as its a real time discussion, however the varying schedules part of those that would want to be a part of may be a problem.
If there were a way that the chat session(s) could be archived and accessible with a link, seems best case scenario. Im not so puter savvy, so maybe this cant be done easily, but it would certainly take care of all who had concern.

Perhaps this could be done as a video podcast, and then there could be some live chat follow-up?

Very generous of you.

I too would be interested.

I just bought two (only wanted one but the second scope was such a good deal I had to bite) and have been checking YouTube for vids.

Some are pretty good and you could sprinkle those in your training.

whatever the format I will be there!

scope 101

:lurk:Excellent.

Schedule may suck to do "live" but I'll try.
Even a "Scope 101" thread would help.
Post as/when you can.

I have a couple old tube scopes (Heathkits).
Just some basics would be a huge leap.

I could use a refresher, stinking memory. Maybe it could be done in sections and then people could participate as their schedules allowed. Could have a q&a area after each section?

This would make my day. Every time I dig mine out I end up lost, confused and discouraged. I have recently went into sort of semi retirement, so to speak, so Im game for just about anytime or set up deemed appropriate for you all.

I gave this some thought and I decided I'll just do a thread.
I'll post the link here when I start.

Just last night I was starring at my recently acquired scope thinking about how ...one day... I'll get it figured out!

Timing is perfect and I think the thread/tutorial approach is a great way of doing this.
Thanks!
