Good morning all,
Does anyone have access or a source for the owners manual (copy OK) for the HK TA5000X receiver? I have the schematic, but would cherish the owners manual.
thanks in advance,
Tom

Hey Tom!
How is the build of those 3 TA5000x coming? In answer to your
query, I have seen a few offerings for the Festival III (not to be confused
with the Festival 3 which is a totally different system) I have never seen
any literature offered by HK for ownership or repair. I have looked and even
got taken in by scammers only to find the same partial schematic that passes
for a service manual. The literature is rare and pricey when it appears on Epay.
Much luck to you as you have 3 of those beautiful beasts:thmbsp:

regards,

Allen

All three are now recapped, on the order of 25 caps (power supply and coupling--not including tuner section caps), and one sold, hoped to find an owners manual, but like you, seem as scare as hen's teeth. I can't believe how heavy they are, approaching 40 pounds!

Harman Kardon has some owners and service manuals online at HarmanKardon.com I don't see the 5000X, but it doesn't hurt to ask... I asked about the 730 and got a scan of the service manual by return email.

I registered my TA 5000x with HK. They offered zero support (repair or literature wise). They have a repair center in the Lee's Summit area and after a call to them,
they laughed at the idea of repairing such an old item.

The frustration mounts. I was thinking of modifying it into an A500
configuration and dumping the tuner altogether.

Great Job BuickGuy62!!!

Did you do the recap? I'm trying to get an estimate on the cost and time to do this if you don't mind sharing.

Do you know which speaker binding post are positive and negative for channels A and B? Thanks
