Philips 7961 Power Switch

Hi-

My beloved receiver, which I got for $10 a few years ago has now developed a problem. The power does not shut off unless I unplug it from the wall. I am comfortable taking it apart, but beyond that I'm a neophyte. I'd be glad, and more than willing, to learn from any known resources (in other words youtube videos) before I take it to a pro. Does anybody have any thoughts or advice?

Is this it? "Philips - AH7961-22AH796-44 Receiver" look on the back.

Thanks for responding. Yes, the stock sticker plate on the back of the unit says 22AH7961 BK01. I'll look at the manual, but I'm a neophyte. I'm wondering if I need to replace the switch?

What I was trying to find out... does it look like this? The link I posted (service manual) above seems to be international and incomplete. I'm not sure if the power switch has a rail/rod attached or is mounted behind the face. if it has an extension rod they can be problematic. Are you in the USA?

Not the same..I can't locate a service manual. Appears to be a lever type switch. Doubtful replacement avail. Might be expedient to just hook up a power strip to turn on an off.

Power strip is a great idea. I also found a local tech who will take a look at it. My OCD side wants this fixed even though the receiver only cost me $10. LOL. Thanks so much for your input.
