Phono preamp conundrum

Anyone know if when plugging a source into Fosi X2's 3.5mm,we still get the tubes buffer stage as when turntable playing ?

So,I'm just starting out with phono preamp and I was looking at the Fosi x2s and x4s as I can get them for cheaper than online sales.
Looking at specs the differences I see is the S/N on the x2 is 98 and the x4 is 70 does this make a difference.
Also the x4 has separate bass and treble controls which I'm not sure I need.
Can someone steer me in the right direction.
I will upgrade eventually.
I'm using a Music Hall MMF 7.1 with a Mojo cart also a Project Debut 3 with an Ortofon 2m blue.

would suggest one of the EAR clones if you can stretch your budget just a tad bit. They are really hard to beat at their price point.

The problem with cheap phono amps is they are made to a LOW price point. Nearly anything with valves will be not worth it, let me assure you. Accept this unit, which is a made up kit with trans, you build it into the case.

I is apparently very good, according to the feed-back it has got on DIYaudio & Lenco Heaven. But unfortunately most people on this site do not do DIY,

An easier option would be to buy something like this, just buy a 24vdc power supply & you can use as it is. Later change the op=amps over & upgrade the P/S

I second the Darlington Labs MM-5, or if you can afford to spend $299, the MM-6. It's a very well designed, well made, great sounding phono stage.

You guys all missed that this was an old thread and @Noamtasini was asking a question about the Fosi X2.

I have no experience with the Fosi X2, hopefully someone will answer your question.
