I recently moved some things around in the main room due to the clutter finally getting to me. I still want to simplify some things but will do for now. I have also been messing around with our old Apple TV gen 2 as a streamer in the ugly basement setup.

After a few of years of wanting to do it, I finally installed the first-reflection ceiling panels, to go with the previously installed (and then reduced a bit) first-reflection and cross-reflection side panels.
The oft-overlooked upper (ceiling) first-reflection point is (much) more pronounced with a sloped ceiling, so this should have been a much higher priority than I made it. Oh well, finally done, big improvement.

As I also have C7-XDs, I need to do a similar thing on my 7' ceiling. Have the panels, but haven't been motivated to put them up. I listen in the near-field (7') so the sidewall 1st reflection is minimized, though I can definitely hear it when I neglect to move my 28" flat-screen TV 'away' after watching. It is a very effective reflection point.
Is that a 30XA amp? I'm very pleased with 50wpc with my C7s.

It’s been a busy summer with some major remodel going on. New wood floors make for a different room response but I’m suppose to wait a month prior to using area rugs. Just got the system back up after 2 months without. Dirac Live handled it pretty well…
Had steam heat in my first house. Steam and condensate in the same pipe. As long as the pitch is right, no problems. Or hammering.

I was surprised at how much improved the sound is with the upper panels. I don't know why I'm so surprised - I knew that close reflection point was a problem that was leading to smearing (et al), so I fully expected it to be better, but the reality is even more so. All good. (I originally had larger side-reflection panels - one 3' (first reflection) and one 4' (cross reflection) on each side. On somewhat of a whim, I switched them to a 2' and 3' (respectively) and the "less is more" effect was noticeable.)
Yes, amp is XA30.5, wonderful match to the C7s in this relatively small room.

Funny, though - this particular radiator rarely gets hot, or even warm. It's the furthest from the boiler, and is on an "added" run with what I think is an undersized service pipe (and much of it isn't wrapped; another project). This third-floor was not originally heated and we think it was retro-fitted when this area was converted or finished for a housekeeper or nanny quarters (in the 30s?) - just two attic rooms. (There's a smaller radiator for the adjacent room just on the other side of that wall with a Tee-fitting). I've doubled the venting, and used high-volume vents, and it's still anemic. I often have a small electric heater running on its lowest setting in the winter.
