Pics of your listening space

The whole top of that cabinet is cut out under the turntable - there's a good 3" of airspace over the vents on the top of the marantz. I also have an exhaust fan on the other side of the cabinet that you can't see in these pics. I mounted a thermocouple ontop of the heatsinks in the amp and they never get above 85 degrees - even on the hottest days here, so the Marantz is fine, don't worry about it. I'm drawing plans up for a gear bench so that cabinet will be gone soon anyway.

The A/D/S/ speakers sound great Onepixel! My brother is really excited that they came into his life - they're a nice match with the Marantz sound. He will be getting a technics SL-1700 MKI to go with the 2275 and the L-570 at the end of the week.

The 1350 is a lot of fun. Mine was missing the original shorty spindle, but had the rare stacking spindle, so I made a shorty out of some steel rod. It works well as a substitute untill I can find an original.

Here's an updated picture with the Thiel CS 1.2 and my brothers ADS L-570. One of the tweeters is out at Thiel for refurb ($40) so the ADS are pulling main duty 'till I get it back.

The placement of those Thiels is not even near ideal. I'm sure they were not designed to be jammed up against the back wall and behind the plane of the other speakers but out, away from the wall and with nothing ahead of the front baffle. Just a friendly suggestion. :)

Update:

Thiel just called - they'll cover the tweeter repair (including shipping) under warantee even though I'm not the original owner! :thmbsp: Talk about fast too - they received the tweeter today at 10:00am and had the problem fixed by noon. awsome.

Thanks for the suggestion about placement Glen, but they are just sitting there for now, not hooked up. When I get the tweeter back in, the ADS will be removed from that room and I'll position the Thiels correctly according to their instructions and my ear.

Thiels are very transparent and vintage receivers, such as that Marantz, aren't! Give the Thiels some seperates!

Good point.

I have my CS1.2s about a foot from the wall. I think Thiels suggests about 2 feet and keep crap away from the sides too. Which is kinda hard with limited space. But does make a difference.

Download the user guide for more specific info. Cool that Thiel are fixing you tweeters at no cost! Great speakers from a great company!

DogOFDoom,

Looks like a real fun listening room, great speaker collection! Cool, comfy, coma inducing chair/ottoman, I have one in orange-brown.

:D

I just moved into a new space and am still getting used to bouncier floors and a closer listening position (12 ft. vs. 18ft.) but there is no traffic noise, big plus.
Any way I'd like to see shots of peoples listening rooms. floors walls ceilings the chair or couch included if possible. Here's one.

Is that Modern gear you have! Heresey I say! :yikes: :music: :D

Okay, That hear might be nice..

All my systems

Thought I'd post all my setups from main ( again) to front room to florida room to the old bedroom of ya garage too.

the second pic I put my camera in front of the left JBL woofer and snapped a pic. yes, I need to re-hang the indian blanket, and yes it is handmade my Indians in Arizona or thereabouts 30+ years ago.

You can NEVER have too many speakers! :D

Now If I can find some 5.5 inch Coaxial drivers to put into those old soundesign cabinets....
