Middle of what? And, what speakers are those? That lamp is way-cool. :thmbsp:

But, you have to admit, not many of us are 2-lava lamp people like BroonsBane.

Dave/Powerman, Dave, I am so coming to visit you some day. Got your message a while ago, been a weird week with parents visiting, I'll be in touch soon.

Here's a couple nearly-current pics (this year, at least- we moved in February). Living room is currently JBL 4333As for 2-channel, Canton Karat 20s for surround, NHT SW10 sub. Yam RXV-1000 surround, Pioneer LD (909?), Sony DVD, Mits VHS, and feeds from the studio's control room and music servers in the basement.

Control room is currently set up for analog archiving, JBL L110s with a Velodyne sub (usually an M&K V3B). Yamaha P2100 power amps.

I'll outline the future system design in its own thread, easier to follow progress pics. It will all be Crestron controlled, 8 zones with 8 shared sources, 5 music server streams plus Studio feed, TiVo/DVD, and AV dubbing rack feed. Living Room surround and 2-channel systems will have access to house sources plus local with a Sony LCD rear-pro. Studio will have the same, with its own surround system & plasma. AV dubbing rack will have TT/DVD/LD/VHS/8mm/Cassette/etc. recordable to CD/DVD/PC/etc.

Zones will be something like this:

LR
DR/Kitchen
MBR
MBath
Office/Gym
Studio
Utility (Garage/Repair Bench)
Outdoor (Front Porch/Back Deck)

In the foreground is the Talking Heads "brick", a collection of their first eight studio albums, remastered and presented as DVD-A DualDiscs. The album sticking out of the brick is Talking Heads: 77. I think that was their first album. I was not real familiar with much of the Talking Heads music, but, I bought the brick because I had heard good things about the 5.1 mixes. I have really enjoyed listening to and becoming familiar with these albums. Great music and the bonus material on the DVDs are a nice plus. :music:

I've been a Talking Heads fan for a long time............ 77 is a great album.
also have
Remain in Light
More songs about buildings and food
Fear of Music
Soeaking in tongues

and maybe another one or 2.

How does the DVD work?............ are there video clips for just some songs on the DVD and still images for others?

The extras typically are one or two videos and still photos. The extras vary from disc to disc depending on what matches the timeframe of the original disc and how much material they had to draw on.

On Talking Heads: 77 the bonus material consists of:

LOVE -> BUILDING ON FIRE
I WISH YOU WOULDN'T SAY THAT

Here's an updated picture with the Thiel CS 1.2 and my brothers ADS L-570. One of the tweeters is out at Thiel for refurb ($40) so the ADS are pulling main duty 'till I get it back.

Hey cool!

Looks like how my system kinda looked like. Including the SL-1350.

So how do you like the ADS?

Nice looking setup, but isn't that Marantz (I think ?) frying in that cabinet, with no space to breathe ?
