Pilot 1078 Console

Hiya,

Not to stray things too much. But what the heck was Pilots "curtain of sound" .. I am guessing some early attempt at surround sound ???

Not too sure. But I hope to learn more, if mfan decides to scan. Iirc, their 240 integrated amp was advertised as "COS" in the same timeframe.
 
Curtain of Sound is basically an early center channel concept. Output from L and R were mixed and sent to a middle speaker.

Not too high tech. Everything happened outboard of the amp on a speaker switching device. Somewhere in my garage there might be an old switching device, but I've looked for it for someone before, to no avail...
