I have the blue vinyl version of Division Bell on Columbia (64200) but it has been edited from the original. I also have the RPI version (double LP, #543752) which is as clean as a whistle.
My teen son started with DSotM and Wish You Were Here. This advice came from his friends and not me, but it makes sense. Although when first exploring with individual songs via Spotify, it was "Echoes" that drew him in. My wife has suggested he follow up with Animals.
I saw Roger Waters playing songs from Animals (Sheep was a highlight) and DSOTM live in Christchurch (NZ) a few years ago - they had a wacky surround setup with 3 stacks behind the audience. Mind-blowing. And they "updated" some songs, some of the interlude bits in DSOTM were exceptional. The only thing missing was Gilmours soaring guitar parts. Magic.
I agree - super keen for this. Apparently the master tapes of the Wall were a challenge according to James Guthrie, to much noise and crap to clean up or something. I love the surround SACD of DSOTM, makes that album a completely immersive experience.
