Yep like that a lot, also "The Final Cut" :music: it reminds me of the Falklands War, I wasn't in the military, but I was involved in a small way.

Always thought that way back that this was one of their most undervalued work. Good choice.

I think meddle is underrated, its one of top Floyd plays.

I think the track with the dog is Seamus? - I have a video of floyd recording that tune and the dog is right there, making his contribution to the tune, very cool.

Yes, I'll go with that as well, though it was not a "themed" (?) album like most others as I seem to recall it was a group effort and hastily put together to keep the ball (popularity) rolling.

"One of these Days" is one I usually listen to when I am having a slow start.

I LOVE The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon; I´ve listened to The Wall hundreds of times. I must admit that I´ve never listened to Animals though. I´ll do that right now ;)

Animals in a great Pink Floyd record.
Not one you here on the radio everyday.
David Gilmore's guitar playing is killer on that record!!!

OK, I've left this thread alone for over 12 hours now, but it still needs help. Why did they put the cows on Atom Heart Mother's cover, instead of mixing it all in on one album, or double album? Or really, why didn't they just make a quadruple album, with dogs, sheep, pigs & cows all together? :scratch2: :D

Credits cost, album cost and mixing it in one album? ah, the smell. I've just been though my own pain barrier to get my sense of smell back, and you want to mix it all on one album. Anyway, that's a lot of profit let alone drugs down the drain.

I think albums that you heard when growing up will always be "better" than newer stuff or an old album that you discover later in life. Music brings back so many memories and emotions; it´s almost like a time machine.

IMHO, "Animals" is the best Pink Floyd album. I'm glad it didn't get overplayed on the radio compared to DSOTM or WYWH, so it still sounds fresh and enjoyable to me.

Being a Floyd fan I like Animals, but I can't hold it up against their earlier work.

like alot of bands of that era, they had to change thier tone so hard to compare to thier earlier stuff, alot like the Bee Gees
