1250's have been running ~$500 on ebay for clean, fully-functional examples (plus shipping).

Seems like a very fair price to me. Especially if the power supply has been rebuilt with new caps and regulating transistors as recommended (assuming that's what is meant by reconditioned power plant). I wouldn't sell mine that cheap.
