Interesting corner speaker on cl

This looks very interesting, any ideas to what it is? Same person has a H/K 430 for $10 Local but I cant go...

Looks like an Altec design. Might be a 604 in there!

Good price, I believe the cabinet is a Jensen I have an identical one. The driver could be anything. I would take it for $5.

Regardless of what driver it has in it, it is well worth the cost. Many of those corner horns are great vintage guitar speakers, even if the drivers aren't Altec (or Jensen or University). I picked up a small 2 way Stromberg-Carlson corner speaker. It had reasonable, but not fabled drivers; an 8" University woofer and an RCA horn tweeter. I was hoping to find a match, but my son tried it with his electric guitar. It quickly became his favorite practice speaker, and now resides with him rather than me.

Well not only that, but ever audio guy needs a mono system :thmbsp: They are great specially to play 78's on. I have one in each bedroom and one in the living room. Mono's Rock

It's a PA speaker for distributed sound/paging, it's not anything special, single 12 inch "full range" driver, probably CTS, Eminence, Becker, or Oaktron with that shiny center dome. Worth very little more than the asking price IMO.

Seconding the 'shiny metal dome = not a 604' train of thought.
Noted it to find I was prempted by bowtie. Good catch.

The other detail to note being that it may not even be a corner horn. Just states corner 'speaker'.

Still looks like an industrial or homebrew version of the Altec 606 to me. Who knows what's inside?
