Pioneer CT-F 1250 Reel motor fails to take up tape

You wont be able to stretch the belt. You need to take it out, measure it and order another just a bit longer. Do you still have the old belts?

The original belts are long gone. I ordered mine from Vintage Electronic as a set specifically for the CT-F1250. The stretch question was in response to Rich P. who posted the instructions on the motor rebuild which I have done. He mentioned that his belts from Vintage Electronics need to be gently stretched due to them being a little tight. But he didn't say by how much.

Ive never tried it but have read that you may be able to stretch a belt by placing it in boiling water for a very short time. Anyone else?

I had thought about stretching it over a pill bottle that was a little larger and using a blow drier or low heat gun for a few minutes. That worked for me once on a watch gasket.
