Hello, I have been working on a Pioneer CT-F1000 for about a month now and got it to about 90% working and just reached a dead end with the Right VU meter. It appears that a previous owner attempted to repair this issue as they just added solder to one of the cables that are just coiled to the board.
I tested the meter by swapping it with the other and no response but the left one did work on the right channel so I took the VU meter apart and I confirmed the coil was burned out (not the springs that hold the needle). I took a magnifying glass and saw the tiny wire broken.
My question is, is there a replacement from another unit that could work on the CT-F1000? I was thinking even swapping the insides of another VU that could work to keep the same look. Not sure. So far my searches for an exact part have exhausted.
Any help would be much appreciated. I've been playing cassettes non-stop on this deck since I got it running and I am in love with it. Just that VU meter is killing me.
Thanks!
