Pioneer HPM-15O with SX-650 amplifier?

I have decided to go for a pair of pioneer HPM 150 with a replaced woofer.
I know it's a bit of a risk since I might end up not liking the replaced woofer but since I will pay for them 300 euro, i think I will have no problem selling them if I don't Like them.
(here in Germany the super tweeter alone on ebay are going for 600 euro)
My question is:
The pioneer SX-650 will be a good fitt with the HPM-150?
Please take in consideraton the replaced woofer wich you can see in the attached photo.

That is a Public Address (PA) woofer. It is more than likely not a very good match as a replacement. Even if it was I would think the SX-650 would struggle to push it to decent listening levels.

If you have already purchased them, I would try it out and see. If not bring up that issue to the seller and he may lower the price. If you do get them I would search out a replacement woofers.

Yes, I made a last moment desicion to not buy the speakers and to look for some speakers with an orignal woofer.

Why not just buy them, part them out, make a tidy profit and buy some better speakers?

I agree. HPM-150's. 1500's, 1100's, etc., are only really "good" and worth much as a whole when they have all their original parts. Otherwise, I'd just buy them, part them out for more money, throw the cabinets away (set on curb, sell, or give away), and get something better. At least that's what I've done with those HPM's and other brands through the years. Finding original woofers that are still in decent shape will be the proverbial needle in a haystack. Plus, they already have those crappy PA speaker woofers in there that you'd need to replace to make the bass even sound decent. I'm sure many people would keep those cabinets and put some other type of woofer in them and be happy but I don't fall into that group anymore.

Isn't this the second thread you've started on the same speakers? And, no....the SX-650 would struggle to run those speakers with any sort of headroom at 35 wpc. Plus, if it's 40 years old and all stock, it's living on borrowed time, too.

I had a different question in this thread that I wanted to post and just after posting it I had realized that I can not delete the old one.
