Pioneer Parts Database

This is a project that I've been working at off and on for the past few years. I started it because of concerns related to the database on the Pioneer Electronics site.

I began by scraping whatever I could get out of the Pioneer Electronics Database. I then added to it by extracting data from the service manuals using OCR. This, unfortunately, has been slow and tedious process. To date (07/30/2024), I have almost over 22,500 records covering the following 320 models:

Using the database is a straightforward process. A typical application would be where you want to find a part number for a particular item and then determine if it was also used in another model. For example, if you want to find the treble control for an SX-737, you would set the "Model" field filter to "SX-737" and the "Description" field filter to "treble". The filters are accessed by clicking the ellipsis (...) at the top of each field column.

This results in the following showing the SX-737 treble control is ACV-136.

Then you can search to find which other models use the ACV-136. First, revert to the "default filters" and then set the "Part Number" field filter to "ACV-136" which should give the following result showing all of the models that use the same control as the SX-737 treble control.

This is a work in progress and there is still a long way to go. As such, the database is far from complete and search results may only represent a subset of all possible results. I also cannot guarantee 100% accuracy since the OCR process introduces a lot of errors which I do my best to correct before posting in the database. If you identify any errors or omissions, please let me know.

Otherwise, feel free to use the database and I hope you find it useful.

The following models have been recently added to the database:

SA-900
SA-800
SA-700
SA-600
SA-500
SA-500A
RT-1011L
RT-1020L

Database entries for SPEC-1, SPEC-2 and SPEC-4 models have also been updated.

I've also added a field for links to service manuals, operating instructions, and spreadsheets containing lists of board level components. Here are two examples:

Took me a few minutes to figure out how it works but I got it! Thank you for such a valuable tool, surely a labor of love!:beerchug:

Plus 1 x10 on the sticky suggestion!

Glad to hear that you go the hang of it and see value in this work. It's pretty straightforward to use but I certainly welcome any questions regarding it's use.

The current record count is just over 12,000.

This thread bump is to mark the crossing of the 20,000 record count with 300 models covered. This brings the database to roughly 50% of it's maximum capacity. There are still several hundred more service manuals on HFE that can potentially be scanned for addition to the database.

I recently asked to have this thread moved to this sub-forum as I felt that this may be a more appropriate location for it to reside (Thank you Mods!).

Les.

This database is simply a great work! Helps me a lot to keep my devices running.
Thank you for it! :beerchug:
