Pioneer PL 117d problems

Im wondering if the microswitch is not being pushed IN far enough from the onset.

See if you push the switch in all the way or if can even be pushed in all the way .

Maybe there Is an adjustment for that switch?

Also those switches can fail, or get oxidized inside and not make contact.

They can be opened up and cleaned.

here is the manual describing the manual and Auto functions. the arm needs to moved into position in manual mode for the motor to start turning .

For anyone coming to this thread years later. The start, stop, and repeat button are all dependent on the white gear on the top of the plinth that gets turned by the platter. For you to trigger a stop after a start, you’ll have to reach your hand under the turntable and rotate that gear. You’ll then see the mechanism Move and snap back.

I bought one that was described as having broken start/stop buttons but the seller did not put the belt on the platter to the motor and could never see it rotate that gear.
