I need a replacement Pioneer PL-71 turntable strobe lamp. This is a large long lamp that has a color light. Anyone know what I can use? Thanx

Well if you don't find anything better, I found the neon bulb from radioshack worked in my Marantz 6200 just fine, even though in theory it shouldn't. I was told only incandescent should work. Part number 272-707

But do check the voltage behind that bulb first and make sure it is 110 or 120 .

There is also this guy. Scroll about 4/5ths of the way down the page. He has a generic Strobe bulb. Price is right too. Just have buck up to the shipping.

Just a side note, the replacement need not be exact, just give enough light flashes to work the strobe effect. I used the OEM stem from the blown bulb and inserted mine after grinding it down a bit. A little spit and duct tape and all was right with the world.
