Pioneer RT-707 used mint Tapehead Assembly score

I finally found / bought 3 complete mint no wear at all Pioneer RT-707 Tapehead assemblies with mounting plates. My RT-707 were so worn, it's sounded crap especially recording channel sound vollume unevenness / unbalance. Azimut and zenit adjusting had became useless now. These new three sets have 100% currently out of linement Azimuth as you can see; but don't worry I did that myself to be able to clean them better!
But questions
1) Does anybody know if these heads are still being made new?
2. which other other pioneer model or brand/make tapeheads are compatible with these Pioneer RT-707 or RT-701's.
3. Does anybody know if these heads can also be used for a RT-901 or 909?

Ok thanks. So there not a spoof. Do you know the frequency range of these heads. Are they original spec. Tracks and lapping looks rather different you see.

Thx. But Do you know if the specs are the same (frequency and mounting) are the same original. Tracks and lapping looks rather different you see.

Thx I'll check it out. Reason for my questions is. Although I got three pairs of 707 (701 comparable heads ), I want to know for sure if I can sacrifice one set for a rt-909 which deck willI hence current prices, me a fortune buy with or without useless worn tape heads. And as we all know these 909's like my 707 offered at any price, almost always have worn out heads , hence don't perform on specs anymore. Left Right destortion, less volume playback and record etc etc. But again thx for for these links 'mate'.

Here are threads from the Tapeheads R2R forum that will answer some of your questions. Forum member Roman Sokolov (twinimage) is the one who made the arrangements to have them fabricated and Sam Palermo (Skywavebe) has installed and tested them.

For the curious and I interested. Here is my RT-707 I bought fysical retail for $250,- CAD perfect working, except for rotten and thus not on specs sounding playback and recording heads. One channel low volume. Recording almost no sound at all. Hence to show you how heads look like - worn out - here the pictures below. Most of these reelhreel to reels with wear ilile mine, still are still sold as with limited wear and as still sounding on specs. But that is in 99,99 % percent of all cases BS. Course based on type of this physical wear, it is (electrically) impossible that your real still sounds on good and balanced.

Note: I wasn't entirely clear about my question if 707's heads are the same, and thus interchangable with 909's. They are the same heads, that I did already know. But the problem is it's still not clear if the welded on mounting plates / brackets on the 909 heads are the same as the 707's. Answer I just found out on another forum is: yes, but it does not apply to all the 909 and vice versa the 707 heads. But I still don't know which is the same and which tape head is due to different 909 head welded bracket, not the same hence not mountable / interchangable with a specific 707 and vice versa 909 head. But when and were I find the answer on this still unanswered part of my question, I will let you all know.

At the top of this page you will see a tab marked Members. If you click on it you can search for twinimage (Roman) or skywavebe (Sam). When you reach their member page you can enter a message with your questions and send it to them.
