I picked up this nice little receiver (with 2 pair of speaker plugs!) at an 'estate' sale over the weekend. I got it bundled with a pair of Advent 3002 speakers and a Technics SL-1400 Mk 2. The receiver looks to have been fully recapped with all bulbs working, the speakers have been refoamed, and the turntable seems to work fine, other than the usual cue issue.



The receiver has no output, and one of the protection fuses is blown. One of the output transistors has been replaced with one that doesn't match the other three. There is a loose resistor on one channel that has gotten so hot it's damaged the board, along with a couple other components. The trimmers are original, and I suspect they are what caused the issue initially.




I had planned on having to recap the unit, but it looks like it'll be a repair instead. I'd like to replace the trimmers with ones that will fit without much modification (my workbench isn't set up after the move almost 2 years ago, so this will be a kitchen table project). I should probably go ahead and replace all the outputs with matching ones. The heat damaged components need to be replaced for that channel, and I'd imagine it would be a good idea to replace the corresponding ones on the other channel.
My questions, at this point, are what trimmers are others using that fit the amp board, should I go ahead and replace all the outputs with new matching ones, how many components should be replaced around the overheated resistor, and how does one handle a damaged board like this one.
