One popped up a FB also in the Queen city for $290 about the same time.

Both seem to use the same pictures.....

If real will go quick!

Listing was just deleted. Just my luck. I'm a newbie to this stuff and just trying to get started.

I'm usually scrubbing Cinci, Dayton and Columbus CL ads. I think I may have seen this earlier but passed because of the part of town it is in.

Just as with any other major city there are major Flippers roaming the CL ads. You have to be quick these days to score the good pieces around the Cincy area. Since I know most of the flippers, I love it when I get there 1st. Which is less and less these days since I have the systems I want. Still funny though when one of them (they know me) contact me and give me **** for beating them to the punch. :D

It popped up on FB around the same time at $290 yesterday.
My guess it was a mistake on CL the first time.
Could also be the MonRecGuy from Indy playing games again.

He contacted me. He said to bring over wires and speakers to test it, but didn't say where.

I am very leery. I told him I tried contacting him yesterday when it was $190. This was the reply:

"Yeh. No one bought it Yesterday which would have been a steal.
Someone will buy it for $290 which is still a deal."

Where it is located is a shady part of town.

Nobody bought it, so he raised the price? Seems like a poorly thought out reply.

Hmmmm definetly sketchy, even at $290, with the box and good cosmetics it's still a great price. But yes I would be hesitant something doesn't seem right about it.

I think you made the right decision. I would only feel good about it if we met at a puplic place and I could at least see if it exists.

The FB ad now states "The right channel still sounds, but will need some electric contact cleaning."

Not one to get without testing at this price.......

Doesn't look like Chuck / MRG: Photos are too good, doesn't show other gear in photos, has a (cinci) phone number in the ad, I doubt it's him.

The 850 is a decent piece, not a bad price, worth thinking about, meet at P.D. or library or something and all should be good, I usually take (at a minimum) a cable so that I can plug my phone in (music source) and headphones, my car has 110v outlets, and if the price is high enough I take small speakers with me (and of course cable). A decent inverter will work to power most receivers for a short time if necessary (or find a location with an outlet).
