Pioneer SX-9930 (SX-939) Face plate turned purple

I have a Pioneer SX-9930 that I acquired a couple years back and it has always had a purple color to the face plate that mixes in with the original black that came with it from the factory... I've cleaned it multiple times and it won't go away. You can even see fingerprints in it that wont come off... I'm just really confused and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if I can get it back to the original color (even though it looks pretty cool like this :p) Is it a primer layer from when the painted the aluminum black in the factory? Thanks :)

(The faceplate was JUST cleaned before the photos so all the smudging you see is actually embedded into the aluminum)

Over the years I've seen more than a few 5530,7730, and 9930's with a "purple haze" on the face-plate. Less so on the 5560,5570,& 5580 versions of the SX-750,SX-850, SX-1050 as they look to have a better anodize coating on the plate.

I had a problem with the face plate on my SX-5560, wasn't quite a purple haze but it was like fingerprints where un removable, I used some car cutting compound/ polish "T-cut" and it cleaned it back up, nice even black right across the faceplate. That purple haze looks kinda funky in a good way in my opinion, but then again I just like purple in general. But if you decide you want to try to get rid of it again, you could try this.
 
I had a set of heatsinks for a Spec 2 I wanted two clean. I normally use Simple Green for this process. After spraying the first heatsink I saw the black coating washing down the drain. The finish was then the blotchy purple as seen in the first image. Now I sample the cleaning solution on a small part with a cotton swab looking for any finish transfer.
